Saul Kravitz Rotem will be speaking about her work on December 13, 12-1 PM via the Shaare Torah Zoom. Short Version: Let's raise $10,000 to support the families evacuated from Sderot to Ein Gedi through the shlichut of Rotem Ur. When the war started, the people of Sderot, a small town of 37,000 people next to Gaza, were evacuated and scattered among 100+ hotels across the country. One of the first waves of evacuation were families who have kids with disabilities and 25 of those families thus found themselves in the Hotel in Kibbutz Ein Gedi on the shores of the Dead Sea (12 kids with disabilities out of a total of 76 kids from Sderot in the hotel). Hamas attacked on October 7. After 6 weeks, a nursery school is finally operating on Ein Gedi for the evacuees. Our former shlicha Rotem has once again become our shlicha. This time she is our direct link to supporting the evacuated families and their children. Rotem is working in the nursery school at Ein Gedi, and also with adults at the hotels at the Dead Sea. Since she is on the ground with the evacuated families, she is identifying needs that the state-provided frameworks can't or won't address. This is where we can help. If you would like to support Rotem's work, you can make tax deductible contributions to The Good People Fund (https://www.goodpeoplefund.org/how-can.../mitzvah-donate/) and write in the comments "Support of Ein Gedi Evacuees / Rotem Ur". Please also e-mail me (saul.kravitz@gmail.com) to tell me that you donated through this channel so I can work with the director of the fund to ensure that all of the money reaches the intended target). You can optionally also e-mail the director of the Good People Fund, Naomi Eisenberger (naomi@goodpeoplefund.org). The Good People Fund will use all of your contribution (net of credit card fees) to reimburse Rotem for expenses incurred, or to directly pay suppliers. Donations by check can be mailed (or sent through your bill paying service) to: The Good People Fund, Inc. 384 Wyoming Avenue Millburn, New Jersey 07041 Beri and I have provided an initial $1250 for this fundraiser, and we hope you will join us in taking care of the evacuated families who suffered and continue to suffer from the attack on their community. Registration for the event is required, please register below to get zoom link by email. If you would like to make an additional donation to support programming at Shaare Torah we would be immensely grateful.
