Tikkun Leil Shavuot 5784: A Night of Jewish Learning

The theme this year is: Unearthing Torah: Roots & Fruits
Join us for a night of learning in celebration of receiving Torah and its ongoing revelation in our lives. Our program will open with a keynote presentation from Dr. Kerry Wallach, discussing her recently published book, Traces of a Jewish Artist: The Lost Life & Work of Rahel Szalit. As the evening continues, we’ll light candles, nosh on dairy treats, and learn with Rabbi Mark Raphael, Rabbi Annie Lewis, Rabbi Yosef Goldman and Devin Egber. Come for one or all of the sessions!

Kerry Wallach is Associate Professor and Chair of German Studies and an affiliate of the Jewish Studies Program at Gettysburg College. She is the author of Traces of a Jewish Artist: The Lost Life and Work of Rahel Szalit (2024), Passing Illusions: Jewish Visibility in Weimar Germany (2017), and numerous articles on German-Jewish literature, history, and film; visual and consumer culture; and gender and sexuality. With Aya Elyada, she co-edited the volume German-Jewish Studies: Next Generations (2023). She is pleased to serve on the editorial board of the German Jewish Cultures book series.
